APM Test
Measure your actions per minute on a reflex grid. Hit each tile the instant it lights up — every hit is one action — and track your live, peak, and average APM plus accuracy.

Then hit each tile the moment it lights up, as fast as you can for 30s.
APM over time
3×3 · 30sAPM — actions per minute — counts how many deliberate inputs you make in a minute of play. The stat comes from real-time strategy games like StarCraft, where every click and keypress is an order to your economy or army, and pro RTS players routinely sustain 300+ APM in a match. Unlike a pure click-speed test, APM isn't about hammering one spot: each action lands somewhere new, so it measures the full see-aim-hit loop of reaction time, mouse control, and clicking speed together.
One tile on the grid is lit at any moment. Hit it and the next target jumps elsewhere instantly, so you're always reacting and re-aiming. Each clean hit is one action, and your APM is hits divided by elapsed time, scaled to a full minute. The headline number is your liveAPM, averaged over the last few seconds so it tracks your current pace, while the chart shows how your speed rose and fell across the run. Clicking an unlit tile doesn't score — it only costs accuracy.
Speed and accuracy pull against each other: the goal is the highest APM you can hold while still hitting cleanly, not a peak built on wild misclicks. Grid size matters too — 3×3 keeps targets close, so there's little mouse travel and APM runs highest; 4×4 balances speed and aim across a wider area; 5×5 spreads targets far apart, demanding big, accurate flicks for a lower but harder-earned score. Only compare runs at the same grid size and duration, since each combination plays differently.
Common APM ranks
| Rank | APM | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Novice | under 65 | Around one hit a second — still finding the rhythm between spotting and clicking |
| Beginner | 65–110 | Steady but deliberate; aiming still interrupts the flow |
| Skilled | 111–160 | Roughly two hits a second, with confident re-aiming between targets |
| Expert | 161–199 | Near-instant reactions and tight, economical mouse control |
| Master | 200+ | More than three tiles a second — the pace of high-level RTS play |
