Spacebar presses over time

10s test
Your spacebar presses over time will appear here

Spacebar speed is measured in clicks per second (CPS) — the same unit as mouse-click tests, applied to the biggest key on your keyboard. It's a competitive little score: spacebar counters took off as a browser game, but the skill carries anywhere a game maps jump, dodge, or fire to space, from bunny-hopping in shooters to combo timing in Minecraft PvP. Because the bar is long and stable enough for several fingers or both thumbs, top scores run well above what most people manage on a mouse button.

The clock starts on your first press, so no countdown eats into your time. Every fresh keydown is counted and divided by the duration to get your CPS — holding the bar down does nothing, because auto-repeat is filtered out and only distinct presses score. When time runs out you get your CPS, a rank, and a graph of your press rate, all computed locally in your browser.

A typical one-finger rate is around 5–7 CPS, crossing 8 is genuinely fast, and a sustained 10+ usually means alternating fingers or drumming both thumbs. Duration changes everything: a 1-second test rewards one explosive burst, while 30, 60, and 100 seconds test stamina as your hand tires, so scores drop as runs get longer. Compare runs of the same length, and read the graph to see whether you opened hot and faded or held a steady pace.
