* Fortnite's sensitivity is a percentage rather than a multiplier, so its eDPI is on a different scale and is not comparable to the others.
eDPI is only comparable within the same game — each game scales its sensitivity slider differently. To compare feel across games, use cm/360 instead.
eDPI stands for effective dots per inch: mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity. On its own either number is misleading — 800 DPI at 2.0 sensitivity moves the crosshair exactly as far as 1600 DPI at 1.0. eDPI collapses both into one figure that reflects how far your view actually turns for a given hand movement, which is why players quote it when comparing sensitivities.
The formula is a simple product: eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity, so 800 DPI at 0.4 sensitivity gives 320. Because it is just multiplication, the calculator rearranges it in any direction — enter DPI and sensitivity for your eDPI, or a target eDPI plus one value to solve for the missing one. Reverse mode is what you want when you switch to a mouse with a different DPI, or copy a pro whose eDPI you know but whose settings do not fit your hardware.
A lower eDPI means you move the mouse further for the same turn, favouring big arm sweeps and steadier micro-adjustments — most tactical-shooter pros trend low. A higher eDPI turns faster with less desk space, which suits fast flicks and small mousepads, but makes precise tracking harder. eDPI is only comparable within one game, because every title scales its sensitivity slider differently — to compare feel across games, use cm/360 instead.
