Dead Pixel Fixer

Try to revive a stuck pixel right in your browser. Start the repair, drag the patch of fast-flashing color noise over the bad pixel, and leave it running. It only helps stuck pixels — not dead ones.

Stuck, not dead

Works best on a pixel frozen on a color. A truly dead (black) pixel rarely recovers.

Position it

Drag the flashing patch right over the stuck pixel — full screen reaches the edges.

Be patient

Leave it running for 10–30 minutes, and try a few separate sessions if needed.

Photosensitivity warning

This tool rapidly flashes high-contrast colors. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing light, do not use it. Flashing only starts once you press Start.

How it works?

A stuck pixel has its red, green, or blue sub-pixels frozen instead of switching with the image. The fixer paints a small square of random full-color noise that changes about sixty times a second, forcing every sub-pixel under it on and off again and again. That rapid cycling can jolt a jammed sub-pixel loose so it responds to the display signal once more. Drag the patch so the stuck pixel sits inside it and leave it running — the longer the better, within reason.

Stuck vs dead pixels

The fixer only helps stuck pixels — a dead pixel has no power, so no amount of flashing brings it back. Not sure which you have? Run the Run the Dead Pixel Tester first: a fault that stays black on a white screen is dead, while one glowing a fixed color is stuck and worth trying here.

For the best results

  • Find the exact pixel first, then drop the patch squarely on top of it.
  • Use full screen to reach pixels near the edges or corners.
  • Give it time — 10 to 30 minutes a session, repeated across a few sessions.
  • On OLED, keep sessions short rather than running for hours at full brightness.
  • If several attempts do nothing, the pixel is most likely dead, not stuck.
